The BMW F650GS, produced from 2001 to 2012, is a versatile dual-purpose motorcycle that saw a significant evolution during its production run. This model is notable for having two distinct generations sharing the same name but featuring different engines and designs. From 2001 to 2007, the F650GS was powered by a robust 652 cc single-cylinder engine, delivering 50 hp. This generation offered various trims, including a Standard model, a Lowered model with a shorter seat height, and the off-road-oriented Dakar, which featured a 21-inch front wheel and longer suspension travel. A key update occurred in 2004 with the introduction of a dual-spark version of the Rotax engine, improving fuel economy and emissions. In 2008, BMW introduced a completely new F650GS.
