Vehicle Information
Honda Rebel 450 Motorcycle - Street (1986-1987)
The Honda Rebel 450, officially known as the CMX450 Rebel, was a popular cruiser motorcycle produced for the 1986 and 1987 model years. Positioned as a more powerful alternative to the Rebel 250, it maintained user-friendly characteristics and classic cruiser styling. Both years featured a 447cc air-cooled parallel twin-cylinder engine. This four-stroke SOHC engine, with 3 valves per cylinder and two Keihin carburetors, produced 38 hp and was paired with a 6-speed transmission, including an overdrive 6th gear. There were no significant generational or engine changes between the 1986 and 1987 models. The core specifications remained consistent. Differences were primarily cosmetic. The 1986 CMX450C Rebel was available in Pearl Stellar Black and Monte Rosa Silver Metallic, featuring a Honda wing decal on the fuel tank. The 1987 model, available in Candy Glory Red and Black, had a "REBEL HONDA" gas tank decal and polished control levers. Both years shared the "REBEL FOUR-FIFTY" battery cover decal and flanged spoke wheels with tubeless tires. Q: Are there different versions of the Honda Rebel 450 for 1986 and 1987?
A: While there were no generational changes, minor cosmetic differences existed between the 1986 and 1987 models. Please use the year and edition selector on this page to ensure you find parts specific to your motorcycle.
