Vehicle Information
Indian Spirit Motorcycle - Street (2001-2003)
The Indian Spirit, a middle-weight cruiser, was produced by the Gilroy, California-based Indian Motorcycle Company of America from 2001 until the company ceased operations in September 2003. During this period, the Spirit was primarily equipped with an 88 cubic inch (1442cc) S&S Super Stock V-twin, air-cooled, four-stroke engine. This engine produced 75 horsepower at 5,200 rpm, paired with a five-speed transmission and a final belt drive. While the 88 cubic inch (1442cc) S&S V-twin engine remained consistent from 2001 to 2003, notable changes occurred. In 2002, all Indian models, including the Spirit, transitioned to a wet clutch system. The year 2003 brought aesthetic and functional refinements, such as new color options, polished cylinder fins, a larger speedometer for improved readability, and an enhanced engraved bezel design. The Roadmaster trim was also introduced with standard saddlebags. Q: How can I ensure this part fits my Indian Spirit?
A: Use the year and trim selector at the top of the page to confirm compatibility.
