Vehicle Information
Honda Urban Express 50 Scooter (1982-1983)
The Honda Urban Express 50, produced from 1982 to 1983, was a compact and reliable moped. Introduced in 1982 as an entirely new model, it replaced the Express II and featured a new frame, a 12-volt electrical system, and a Honda V-Matic continuously variable transmission. It was powered by an air-cooled, 49 cc two-stroke, single-cylinder engine, delivering approximately 4.5 horsepower at 7,000 rpm. This engine utilized an automatic oil injection system, eliminating the need for manual fuel premixing. During its short production run, two primary trims were available: the standard Honda Urban Express (NU50) and the Honda Urban Express Deluxe (NU50M). The Deluxe version was distinguished by the addition of an electric start and a larger battery. Between 1982 and 1983, changes were minimal, with the 1983 model being almost identical to the previous year's. The Urban Express series marked the end of the Honda Express line in North America in 1983. FAQ:
