The Beta RS 525, offered from 2008 to 2010, is a dual-sport motorcycle designed for serious off-road and on-road enthusiasts. It features a single-cylinder, four-stroke 510cc engine with a 6-speed wide-ratio transmission, hydraulic clutch, and an electric starter with kick-start backup. These models were initially built exclusively for the USA market, being 50-state approved for on-road use. During this period, the RS 525 was available as a dual-sport model and a Supermoto version (sometimes referred to as RM 525 in 2008), with the Supermoto typically featuring 17-inch wheels and handguards. In 2009, aesthetic updates included new white plastic and softer seat foam. A significant change occurred in 2010 with the transition to Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) for both RS and RS Supermoto models, which fundamentally improved corner exit power delivery and fuel atomization compared to the carbureted 2009 models.
