Description
The redesigned PowerBomb is a four-stroke header that incorporates FMF’s patented PowerBomb module at a precise location in the initial stage of the header. By positioning this “Bomb” at a key point in the system, increased performance and flow is achieved through the expansion and contraction of exhaust sonics through the system. Result is a flow increase of nearly 10%! The outer chamber in the Powerbomb allows the air to expand, cool and ramp back up at a higher velocity. Additionally, the PowerBomb is a “pre-muffler” of sorts which helps to lower the bikes sound output by providing more sound absorbing surface area for the sound medium (exhaust gases). On some models, you can choose between a moto or supercross version. The supercross version is designed for more low to mid-range power where the moto version is focused in the mid to upper RPM range.
FEATURES
- Position "Bomb" increases performance; horsepower is increased as much as 10%
- Act as a "pre-muffler" helping to lower the decibel output

Vehicle Information
Honda CRF450X Dirt Bike (2005-2026)
The Honda CRF450X is a robust off-road motorcycle, designed for trail riding and competitive racing, and is 50-state off-road legal. Produced from 2005 through the anticipated 2026 model year, it is primarily offered as a single trim, with significant updates marking generational changes rather than distinct trim levels. It is powered by a liquid-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke engine with a consistent 449cc displacement and bore/stroke measurements of 96.0mm x 62.1mm. The CRF450X has undergone three main generational changes. The first generation (2005-2007) featured a 40mm Keihin flat-slide carburetor and a five-speed transmission. The second generation (2008-2017) introduced minor updates such as a Honda Progressive Steering Damper and a revised accelerator pump. The third generation, launched in 2019 and continuing through 2026, brought a complete overhaul, including the adoption of fuel injection (PGM-FI), a new chassis based on the CRF450R, and a wide-ratio six-speed transmission. The 449.7cc Unicam engine was also revised for off-road appropriate power. FAQ:

Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| Engine Oil and Oil Filter | 10-15 hours (recreational) or 5-10 hours / 6 races (aggressive). Alternatively, 6,000 km for general Honda engines. | The CRF450X uses a split lubrication system for engine and transmission. It is recommended to change engine oil and filter together. |
| Air Filter | 10-15 hours (recreational) or 2-10 hours / after every ride in dusty conditions (aggressive). | Regularly clean and service the air filter, especially in dusty conditions. Replace if there are signs of damage or degradation. |
| Spark Plug | Periodic inspection and replacement as per the maintenance schedule. | Inspect for wear, deposits, and proper gap. Maintenance is part of the competition use schedule for later models. |
| Coolant | Every 2 years, or 40-50 hours / at least once per season for severe off-road use. | Always use Honda-recommended silicate-free coolant to prevent overheating and corrosion. |
