Description
The redesigned PowerBomb is a four-stroke header that incorporates FMF’s patented PowerBomb module at a precise location in the initial stage of the header. By positioning this “Bomb” at a key point in the system, increased performance and flow is achieved through the expansion and contraction of exhaust sonics through the system. Result is a flow increase of nearly 10%! The outer chamber in the Powerbomb allows the air to expand, cool and ramp back up at a higher velocity. Additionally, the PowerBomb is a “pre-muffler” of sorts which helps to lower the bikes sound output by providing more sound absorbing surface area for the sound medium (exhaust gases). On some models, you can choose between a moto or supercross version. The supercross version is designed for more low to mid-range power where the moto version is focused in the mid to upper RPM range.
FEATURES
- Position "Bomb" increases performance; horsepower is increased as much as 10%
- Act as a "pre-muffler" helping to lower the decibel output

Vehicle Information
Yamaha WR450F Dirt Bike (2003-2026)
The Yamaha WR450F, an iconic off-road and enduro motorcycle, was introduced in 2003 and has continued to evolve through 2026. Powered by a 449cc (often rounded to 450cc) liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine, it is renowned for its versatility and off-road performance. While generally offered as a single model without distinct trim levels, the WR450F has undergone several major redesigns over the years. Early versions, from 2003 to 2011, were carbureted. A significant change occurred in 2012 with the adoption of electronic fuel injection and a new aluminum frame based on the YZ450F, enhancing handling and power delivery. Other notable evolutions include the introduction of the "reversed" engine design in 2015 and substantial engine and chassis updates in 2019 and 2021, aimed at optimizing enduro performance and efficiency. Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| Engine Oil and Oil Filter | Every 1,000 km or 5 rides (2003); Every 10 h (recreational) or 5 h (aggressive/race) for other years | Replace filter with each oil change. Approximately 1.1 L of oil with filter change. |
| Air Filter | After break-in and every race (2003); Every 15 h (recreational) or 5 h (aggressive/race) for most years | Clean and re-oil regularly. Inspect and replace if damaged. Interval may be 10 h for recreational riding on some years (e.g., 2015). |
| Spark Plug | Inspection every 500 km or every 3 races (2003); Inspection after break-in and every race (2006) | Periodic inspection is recommended for all model years. |
| Coolant | Check level before each ride | Inspect hoses for leaks or wear. |
| Drive Chain | Every 5-10 h | Clean and lubricate. The WR450F uses a chain, not a belt. |
