Description
For over a century, Gates has driven innovation in belt technology to power the machines that move you. Gates® G-Force C12 CVT belt drives are engineered to navigate the toughest off-road trails with power and efficiency. The industry's first CVT belt with carbon tensile cord also features a trapezoid top-notch and rounded cog design for superior flexibility and heat dissipation, along with a unique gum adhesion that reduces fiber pullout within the belt extending the life of the belt. Gates combines material science and process engineering to create innovative products that provide performance, reliability and the strength to withstand even the most challenging off-road environments. Continuous innovation isn't just what we do. It's who we are.
WHY G-FORCE C12 BELTS?
- STRENGTH: The first CVT belt utilizing carbon tensile cord for minimal stretch and extraordinary strength.
- FLEXIBILITY: High-performance neoprene with a trapezoidal topnotch and rounded bottom cog design maximizing heat control and flexibility.
- DURABILITY: Carbon tensile cords are bonded to aramid fiber-loaded rubber with specially formulated adhesion gum, resulting in increased side-load resistance, preventing belt distortion and edge cord pullout.
- PERFORMANCE: Gain optimal power transmission for faster acceleration, improved throttle response and consistent shifting performance.

Vehicle Information
Arctic Cat Jag 440 Snowmobile (1981-1999)
The Arctic Cat Jag 440, produced from 1981 to 1999, was a popular snowmobile known for its reliability and approachable performance. Primarily featuring a 431cc (often referred to as 440cc) fan-cooled twin engine, it was supplied by Suzuki for many years, then by Fuji around 1999. Its horsepower generally hovered around 42 HP. Production saw a hiatus in the early 1980s due to Arctic Cat's bankruptcy, but the model was revived and redesigned in 1985. Significant improvements marked its evolution, including the introduction of the AFS (Arctic Front Suspension) in 1987, followed by its rework in 1989. The AWS chassis was updated in 1993 for the Jag 440Z, offering a wider ski stance. By 1999, the Jag 440 Deluxe incorporated the all-aluminum AWS V chassis and FasTrack Long Travel rear suspension, with engine refinements for a slight power increase. Q: How can I ensure this part fits my Arctic Cat Jag 440?
A: To guarantee compatibility, please use our year and model selector located at the top of the page.
Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| Drive Belt | Every 1 300 km or at the end of the season | Inspect for wear and damage. Disassemble, clean, and inspect drive clutch and driven pulley. |
| Spark Plug | Annually or as needed | Inspect and replace, ideally before the season starts. More frequent replacement for hard use. |
| Air Filter | Every 10 hours | Clean or replace as needed. Check during off-season storage. |
| Coolant | Every 2 years or 200 hours | Check level and hose condition. Change fluid for liquid-cooled models. |
