Description
For over a century, Gates has driven innovation in belt technology to power the machines that move you. Gates® G-Force C12 CVT belt drives are engineered to navigate the toughest off-road trails with power and efficiency. The industry's first CVT belt with carbon tensile cord also features a trapezoid top-notch and rounded cog design for superior flexibility and heat dissipation, along with a unique gum adhesion that reduces fiber pullout within the belt extending the life of the belt. Gates combines material science and process engineering to create innovative products that provide performance, reliability and the strength to withstand even the most challenging off-road environments. Continuous innovation isn't just what we do. It's who we are.
WHY G-FORCE C12 BELTS?
- STRENGTH: The first CVT belt utilizing carbon tensile cord for minimal stretch and extraordinary strength.
- FLEXIBILITY: High-performance neoprene with a trapezoidal topnotch and rounded bottom cog design maximizing heat control and flexibility.
- DURABILITY: Carbon tensile cords are bonded to aramid fiber-loaded rubber with specially formulated adhesion gum, resulting in increased side-load resistance, preventing belt distortion and edge cord pullout.
- PERFORMANCE: Gain optimal power transmission for faster acceleration, improved throttle response and consistent shifting performance.

Vehicle Information
Arctic Cat M8 Snowmobile (2007-2011)
The Arctic Cat M8 mountain snowmobile, produced from 2007 to 2011, established itself as a high-performance and agile vehicle. Initially launched in 2007, it introduced the M8 chassis, a major evolution from the previous Mountain Cat, offering improved handling and reduced weight. Powered by a 794cc two-stroke twin-cylinder engine, its horsepower evolved over the years. In 2010, a significant update occurred with the introduction of the 800 H.O. engine (799cc), increasing power and accompanied by notable improvements such as a lighter and taller seat, as well as new skis for better flotation. The 2011 model represented the pinnacle of this chassis, incorporating additional refinements and special editions like the M8 Sno Pro Limited. Q: Is my Arctic Cat M8 compatible with all parts listed on this page?
R: To ensure exact compatibility, please use our year and trim selector located at the top of the page. This will help you find parts specific to your model.
Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| Initial Break-In and Post-Break-In Check | 1 000 km or 1 month (whichever comes first) for break-in; 150 to 500 km for post-break-in check | Break-in is crucial for new snowmobiles. The post-break-in check includes inspecting drive belt deflection, drive clutch/driven pulley alignment, coolant level, and oil-injection pump adjustment. |
| Drive Belt | Check every 50 hours. Replace if damaged or worn. | Regularly inspect the belt for cracks or tears. Typical lifespan is 2 500 to 5 000 km. |
| Spark Plugs | Inspect every 50 hours, 6 400 km, or annually. | Inspect, clean, or replace as needed, especially after extended storage. |
| Coolant | Check level before each engine start. Change every two years. | Check level when cold. Inspect hoses and connections after prolonged storage. The level is also checked during the post-break-in check. |
| Oil Injection System | Check pump adjustment during post-break-in check. | 2007-2011 M8 models are two-stroke and use an oil injection system. Fill the reservoir with the recommended 2-cycle oil. There is no traditional engine oil filter. |
| Air Filter | Inspect regularly. | Check the air intake silencer. More frequent inspection is recommended in dusty or harsh conditions. |
