Vehicle Information
Ski-Doo Summit 850 Snowmobile (2017-2026)
The Ski-Doo Summit 850 (2017-2026) is a mountain snowmobile designed for deep-snow enthusiasts, renowned for its advancements in engine technology and chassis design. Powered by the 849cc Rotax 850 E-TEC two-stroke engine, this model has evolved to deliver exceptional performance. The 2017-2026 period saw significant innovations. In 2017, the REV Gen4 platform and the 850 E-TEC engine were introduced, optimizing handling and rider control. The 2020 model year brought the 850 E-TEC Turbo engine, a first for a mass-produced turbocharged two-stroke, delivering 165 horsepower up to 8,000 feet of elevation. A major shift occurred in 2023 with the launch of the narrower and lighter REV Gen5 platform, accompanied by the powerful 180-horsepower 850 E-TEC Turbo R engine. Continuous refinements, such as in 2026 with the Summit X Expert Package, further enhanced lightness and maneuverability. FAQ:

Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| Oil Filter (Injection Oil System) | Check before every ride | 2-stroke models do not have a traditional engine oil filter. Check the injection oil reservoir level and top off as needed. |
| Drive Belt | Inspect every 50 hours | Check for wear, damage, or glazing. Typical lifespan: 2,400 to 4,800 km depending on riding style. |
| Spark Plug | Every 3 years or 6,000 km | Replace whichever comes first. Use manufacturer-specified spark plugs. |
| Air Filter | Inspect before every ride | Check the air filter's condition as part of the pre-ride inspection. Clean or replace as needed. |
| Coolant | Replace every 2 years; check density annually or every 3,200 km | Check level when cold before every ride. |
