Yamaha Sidewinder STX 1000 Snowmobile (2017-2025)
The Yamaha Sidewinder STX 1000, produced from 2017 to 2025, is a high-performance snowmobile renowned for its potent Genesis 998cc turbocharged engine. This 3-cylinder, 4-stroke engine consistently delivers over 180 horsepower, with some reports indicating it can exceed 200 horsepower, making it one of the most powerful in the industry. While the core engine specifications remained constant throughout its production run, the Sidewinder series saw significant evolution in its trims and features. Notable mid-cycle changes included the introduction of iQS (Intelligent Quick Switch) shocks on select models from 2019, and the expansion of Electric Power Steering (EPS) to various GT and LE models starting in 2022, enhancing rider comfort and control. Other updates included new ski designs, gearing changes, and adjustable handlebar risers in later years, catering to diverse riding styles from trail to mountain.
