The Aprilia Caponord 1200, produced from 2014 to 2018, is an adventure touring motorcycle known for its blend of performance and electronic features. It is powered by a 1,197cc (often rounded to 1200cc) V-twin engine producing 125 hp. From its introduction, it featured key technologies like ride-by-wire throttle, selectable engine maps, ABS, and Aprilia Traction Control (ATC).
While the core 1,197cc V-twin engine remained largely consistent, Aprilia adapted it from the Dorsoduro 1200 for touring purposes, notably with smaller throttle bodies and double injectors for smoother power delivery and improved fuel consumption. The most significant mid-cycle change was the introduction of the Rally trim in 2015. This more rugged, off-road oriented model featured wire-spoke wheels, an oversized windscreen, and hand guards, in addition to aluminum panniers.
