Vehicle Information
Yamaha FZ6 Motorcycle - Street (2004-2009)
The Yamaha FZ6, produced from 2004 to 2009, was a versatile middleweight motorcycle. Powered by a 599cc liquid-cooled, inline 4-cylinder engine, derived from the 2003 YZF-R6 but re-tuned for more usable mid-range power, it was offered in several trims. The FZ6 underwent a notable evolution. First-generation models (S1, 2004-2006) produced 98 horsepower. From 2007, the S2 generation was introduced, bringing significant chassis, brake, and aesthetic upgrades. The "full-power" S2 models maintained 98 horsepower, while detuned standard versions of 78 horsepower were also available until 2009. Two main configurations were offered: the FZ6 Fazer (or FZ6S) with a half-fairing, and the FZ6N (or FZ6 Naked) without a front fairing, both available throughout the production period. FAQ:

Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| Oil Filter | Every 6,000 km or 6 months | Generally recommended with every oil change. |
| Spark Plugs | Every 13,000 km | Check and adjust gap. Replace if necessary. |
| Air Filter | Every 10,000 km or 1 year | Replace more frequently if riding in dusty or wet conditions. |
| Coolant | Every 2-3 years | Check level regularly and top up if necessary. |
| Drive Chain | Regular inspection and lubrication | Clean and lubricate, especially after riding in rain or washing the motorcycle. The FZ6 uses a drive chain, not a belt. |
