The Kawasaki KFX400, produced from 2003 to 2006, was a popular sport ATV renowned for its performance and agility. This model shared its core platform with the Suzuki LT-Z400. It was powered by a 398cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC, 4-stroke engine, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission including reverse. While maintaining consistent core specifications, the KFX400 received notable updates. For 2005, power output was enhanced with a carburetor change (from Mikuni BSR36 to a 37mm CV-style with TPS) and higher lift intake/exhaust cams. Suspension shocks were also updated between the 2004 and 2005 models. The compression ratio saw a slight increase from 11.3:1 (2003-2004) to 11.6:1 (2006), and dry weight increased from 168 kg (2003-2004) to 170 kg (2005-2006).
