Featuring a 124.8 cc single-cylinder two-stroke engine, it consistently evolved to deliver optimal performance on trails and in competition. Throughout its long production run, the 125 EXC underwent several significant revisions. A major change occurred in 2008 with a redesign focused on weight reduction and improved handling. In 2012, a completely revamped chassis was introduced, including a new chrome-molybdenum steel frame, an upgraded WP fork, and an aluminum swingarm.
