The KTM 360 EGS, produced for the 1996 and 1997 model years, is an enduro motorcycle renowned for its potent two-stroke engine. Sharing its platform with other 360cc models of the era, it features a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with a displacement of 353 cc (often referred to as 360cc). This engine offered competitive power, positioning it in the "mid-sized" power range for its time. While the 360cc engine was introduced in 1996, slight adjustments were made in 1997. Notably, the power valve calibration was refined for more consistent powerband delivery across the full RPM range. Visually, 1996 and 1997 models featured "honeycomb coloured plastics," before transitioning to orange plastics from 1998 onwards. The 360cc engine itself was only in production for these two years, being replaced by a 380cc engine in 1998.
