KTM 495 MX Dirt Bike (1981-1984)

The KTM 495 MX, produced from 1981 to 1984, was an open-class motocross motorcycle renowned for its powerful two-stroke engine. It featured a 495cc engine with a 92.25mm bore and 74mm stroke, an "over-square" design contributing to its quick-revving nature. Over the years, the model underwent significant evolutions. In 1982, a reed valve was added to the engine, and the Pro-Lever rear suspension was introduced. 1983 saw the arrival of Brembo front disc brakes and 42mm Marzocchi forks. In 1984, major changes were implemented, including a WP Upside-Down front fork, the replacement of the front disc brake with a drum brake, a new frame, and an engine revised for increased torque at the expense of peak horsepower.
