Vehicle Information
Kawasaki Mule 1000 Side-by-Side (1988-1997)
The Kawasaki Mule 1000, produced from 1988 to 1997, was the foundational model in Kawasaki's Multi-Use Light Equipment (MULE) lineup. This robust utility vehicle was consistently powered by a liquid-cooled 454cc twin-cylinder engine throughout its entire production run. Designed for reliability and versatility, the Mule 1000 featured a durable steel-tube chassis and a CVT transmission. During its 1988-1997 production, the Mule 1000 (KAF450) was offered as a single, consistent generation. There were no distinct trim levels or significant mid-cycle engine changes for this specific model. Its 454cc engine, CVT transmission, and chassis remained largely unchanged, with only minor updates over the years. This means parts are generally interchangeable across all model years within this range. While Kawasaki expanded its MULE lineup with other distinct models during this period (like the Mule 2010, 2020, 2500 series), the Mule 1000 itself maintained its original specifications. FAQ:
