Vehicle Information
Yamaha WaveRunner VX 1100 Personal Watercraft (2007-2015)
The Yamaha WaveRunner VX 1100 series, produced from 2007 to 2015, established itself as a popular and reliable personal watercraft. These models were primarily powered by a robust 1052cc, 110 HP, 4-stroke engine with Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI), offering a balance of performance and efficiency. Key trims included the agile VX Sport, the versatile VX Deluxe, and the comfort-oriented VX Cruiser. Throughout its production, the VX 1100 series saw significant updates. While the core engine remained consistent, 2014 brought the introduction of Yamaha's lighter NanoXcel hull material for the VX Cruiser and VX Deluxe, reducing weight by approximately 65 pounds for improved handling and fuel economy. The 2015 model year marked a major redesign, introducing a new, larger hull and deck, the innovative RiDE electronic reverse control system, and enhanced features like Cruise Assist and No Wake Mode for Deluxe and Cruiser models. This redesign represented a new generation for the series. Q: How can I ensure this product fits my Yamaha WaveRunner VX 1100?
A: To guarantee compatibility, please use the year and model selector at the top of this page.
Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| Engine Oil and Oil Filter | Every 50 hours or annually | Use Yamalube 10W-40 4M marine engine oil and genuine Yamaha OEM oil filters. |
| Spark Plugs | Every 100 hours | Use specific marine-rated plug types and gaps recommended in your owner's manual. |
| Air Filter | As needed (condition-based) | Clean air filter and air box, replace as needed. Inspect regularly for water intrusion. |
| Cooling System | After every use | These models use raw-water cooling. Flush engine thoroughly with fresh, clean water for at least 3 minutes, especially after saltwater use. No traditional coolant replacement. |
| Timing Belt / Water Pump | Inspect timing belt every 100 hours or annually; replace water pump every 300 hours or 3 years. | The VX 1100 uses a timing belt, not a drive belt. Confirm specific timing belt replacement intervals in the official owner's manual. |
