Vehicle Information
Kawasaki KDX250 Motorcycle - Dual-Sport (1980-1994)
The Kawasaki KDX250, produced from 1980 to 1994, was a versatile two-stroke enduro motorcycle. It was offered in two distinct generations, both featuring a 249 cc engine displacement. The first generation (1980-1984) was characterized by an air-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 33 hp, drum brakes, and basic components. Trims included the KDX250-A and KDX250-B, with minor revisions for the latter. After a hiatus, the KDX250 was reintroduced in 1991 with a completely updated second generation (1991-1994). This new iteration featured a liquid-cooled engine, disc brakes, an inverted front fork, and a steel twin-spar frame, closely modeled on the KX250 motocross bike. Power increased to 40 hp for the KDX250R and 39 hp for the KDX250SR. The KDX250R was a "hard-enduro" model, while the KDX250SR was a "soft enduro" version for the Japanese market, featuring specific modifications like a smaller fuel tank and carburetor. The KDX250-E was a road-legal version for Europe and Australia. FAQ:
