The Kawasaki GPz 550, produced from 1981 to 1985, was an iconic sportbike of its era, known for its performance in the middleweight class. It was introduced as a higher-performance version of the KZ550. Its engine was a 553cc air-cooled, DOHC (Double Overhead Cam) inline-four cylinder. While the 553cc engine displacement remained consistent, the model underwent significant evolutions. In 1982, the Uni-Trak monoshock rear suspension and air-assisted forks were introduced, altering the ride dynamics.
