Vehicle Information
Kawasaki Z1000 Motorcycle - Street (2003-2016)
The Kawasaki Z1000, a prominent streetfighter motorcycle, was produced from 2003 to 2016, undergoing several significant updates throughout its lifespan. Initially launched with a 953 cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, four-cylinder engine derived from the ZX-9R, it offered robust performance. The model saw distinct generational changes. The first generation (2003-2006) featured the original 953 cc engine. The second generation (2007-2009) retained the 953 cc engine but with a re-tune for enhanced low and mid-range torque, alongside visual updates. A major redesign marked the third generation (2010-2013), introducing an all-new aluminum frame and a larger 1,043 cc engine, with ABS becoming a standard feature. The fourth generation (2014-2016) brought further styling updates, engine refinements for increased power, improved braking with monoblock calipers, and a Showa Big Piston Fork. A slipper clutch was also added in 2016. While primarily offered as a single model, aesthetic special editions were released, and ABS was integrated into the main offering from 2010. FAQ:
