Vehicle Information
KTM 125 SXS Dirt Bike (2000-2008)
The KTM 125 SXS, an iconic motocross model, was produced between 2000 and 2008. While the "SXS" designation often refers to a race-ready version of the standard 125 SX, detailed specifications for a distinct "SXS" trim are not consistently available for all these years. The core model, the 125 SX, was powered by a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, two-stroke engine ranging from 124.8 to 125 cm³, renowned for its championship-caliber performance. During this period, the KTM 125 SX underwent several significant evolutions. In 2001, the engine was revised with bore and stroke modifications, along with a lighter crank and cylinder. Chassis and suspension updates followed in 2002, succeeded by a transmission change (from 6 to 5 speeds) in 2003. Performance enhancements were introduced in 2004 with a V-Force Intake System and a new exhaust. The transmission reverted to a 6-speed unit in 2006, which also saw a redesigned chassis. A new cylinder, along with an entirely new chassis and plastics, were introduced in 2007, with the 2008 model being a carryover. These changes continuously improved handling and power delivery. FAQ:
