The Suzuki SV650, a highly popular street motorcycle, has been a staple since its introduction in 1999, with models confirmed through 2026. It consistently features a 645cc liquid-cooled, 90-degree V-twin engine. The first generation (1999-2002), known as the "Curvy," was carbureted. A significant redesign in 2003 introduced electronic fuel injection and a new aluminum truss frame, marking the "Pointy" second generation (2003-2008), which saw increased power and optional ABS by 2007. From 2009 to 2015, the SV650 was largely replaced by the SFV650 Gladius, featuring a new design and steel trellis frame, though retaining the core V-twin engine with improvements. The SV650 name returned in 2016 (for the 2017 model year), discontinuing the Gladius.
