The Yamaha Maxim 750, also known as the XJ750 Maxim, was produced from 1982 to 1983, blending cruiser aesthetics with capable performance. Both 1982 and 1983 models featured a 748 cc, four-stroke, four-cylinder, air-cooled, DOHC engine. While the core engine design remained consistent, 1983 brought significant updates. The standard XJ750D models typically produced 70 PS. However, 1983 saw the introduction of the XJ750E-II, a significantly updated model boasting 87 hp. This version received a comprehensive engine redesign, including a slight increase in stroke, larger valves, the YICS system, and an elevated compression ratio, leading to a 10% power increase. The XJ750E-II also featured a new frame based on the XJ900 and a frame-mounted fairing.
