The BMW R1150RT, produced from 2001 to 2005, is a renowned touring and sport touring motorcycle. Succeeding the R1100RT, it features a robust 1,130 cc air/oil-cooled flat-twin "boxer" engine, delivering approximately 94 to 95 horsepower and 98 to 100 N·m of torque. This model is equipped with a six-speed gearbox and shaft drive, offering a smooth and reliable ride for long distances. It was primarily offered as a single, well-equipped touring model, including standard features like linked ABS, panniers, an electronically adjustable screen, and a center stand. A notable update occurred during its production run. From 2004 onwards (with some earlier 2002 or 2003 models also receiving it), BMW introduced a dual ignition system, featuring two spark plugs per cylinder. This enhancement aimed to improve cold starting performance and mitigate partial throttle surging.
