BMW R18 Motorcycle - Street (2021-2026)
The BMW R18 (2021-2026) is an iconic cruiser motorcycle, powered by the 1802cc "Big Boxer" engine. This range offers a distinctive riding experience, blending classic design with modern technology. It is available in various versions, from the standard cruiser to touring and bagger models, to suit diverse riding styles. While the 1802cc engine remained consistent, the R18 lineup saw significant evolution. 2021-2024 models delivered 158 Nm of torque, whereas from 2025 onwards, an engine control system revision increased torque to 163 Nm, also ensuring Euro 5+ compliance. Major new trims like the R18 B and Transcontinental were introduced in 2022, followed by the R18 Roctane in 2024. The 2025 model year also brought aesthetic and comfort enhancements, including new wheel sizes and revised fenders on certain models. FAQ:

Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| General Service | Every 10 000 km or annually | |
| Engine Oil and Oil Filter | Every 10 000 km or annually | Use high-quality 15W-50 synthetic engine oil (e.g., BMW Advantec Ultimate 5W-40) and an original oil filter. |
| Drive Belt | Not applicable | The BMW R18 uses a shaft drive transmission, so there is no drive belt to maintain. Transmission oil and bevel gear oil should be replaced every 20 000 km. |
| Spark Plugs | Inspect every 20 000 km, replace between 20 000 and 25 000 km | Some recommendations suggest annual replacement. |
| Air Filter | Check every 10 000 km, replace every 20 000 km | Replace more frequently if riding in dusty conditions. |
| Coolant | Check every 8 000 km or 6 months (general BMW) | The BMW R18 is air/oil-cooled. For the R18 B, coolant replacement is recommended every 2 to 3 years. |
| Brake Fluid | Replace after the first year, then every two years | Brake pads should be inspected every 5 000 km and replaced between 10 000 and 20 000 km depending on wear and riding style. |
