Buell Ulysses Motorcycle - Street (2006-2010)
The Buell Ulysses, produced from 2006 to 2010, was an innovative adventure sportbike designed for versatile riding. Powered by a robust 1203cc Thunderstorm V-Twin engine, it offered a unique blend of performance and utility. Initially launched as the XB12X, an adventure-oriented model with long-travel suspension, the lineup expanded in 2008 with the introduction of the XB12XT. This touring variant featured a more road-focused setup, including shorter suspension travel (4.9 inches), a lower seat height, and standard amenities like heated grips and hard cases, making it ideal for longer journeys. Throughout its production, the Ulysses saw several refinements. The engine management system evolved from DDFI II to DDFI III, and the engine's redline was increased to 7,100 rpm in 2008, enhancing its responsiveness. The XB12X also received updates in 2007, including a lower seat and increased steering sweep for improved maneuverability. These changes reflect Buell's continuous effort to refine the Ulysses platform, offering distinct options for adventure and touring enthusiasts while maintaining the core performance of its air/oil/fan-cooled V-Twin engine.
