Ducati Sport 1000 Motorcycle - Street (2005-2009)
The Ducati Sport 1000, part of the retro-styled SportClassic range, was produced from 2006 to 2009. While the SportClassic family was introduced in 2003 and went on sale in 2005 for the 2006 model year, the Sport 1000 specifically began its production run in 2006. Across all models from 2005 to 2009, it was powered by the same air-cooled, 992cc L-twin (V-twin) Desmodue engine, producing 92 hp at 8000 rpm and 91 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm, featuring Marelli electronic fuel injection. Significant variations were introduced over the years. Initially launched as a Monoposto (single-seat) model in 2006, the lineup diversified in 2007 with the addition of the Biposto (two-seater, featuring twin Sachs shock rear suspension) and the Sport 1000 S (with an upper fairing). In 2008, some models, including the Sport 1000 S, adopted a dual-shock swingarm and a wet clutch, a change from the earlier dry clutch, and exhaust systems were revised.
