Kawasaki GPz 550 Motorcycle - Street (1981-1985)
The Kawasaki GPz 550, produced from 1981 to 1985, was an iconic sportbike of its era, known for its performance in the middleweight class. It was introduced as a higher-performance version of the KZ550. Its engine was a 553cc air-cooled, DOHC (Double Overhead Cam) inline-four cylinder. While the 553cc engine displacement remained consistent, the model underwent significant evolutions. In 1982, the Uni-Trak monoshock rear suspension and air-assisted forks were introduced, altering the ride dynamics. A major restyling occurred in 1984, featuring a larger, more streamlined fairing, increased horsepower to 65 hp, an anti-dive braking system, and a box-section swingarm, marking a notable enhancement in performance and aesthetics.
