The Kawasaki Tecate 4 250, along with its predecessor the Tecate 3, were prominent sport ATVs produced from 1984 to 1988. All models in this range featured a liquid-cooled 249cc two-stroke engine. Significant changes occurred across these years, distinguishing the Tecate 3 and Tecate 4. The Tecate 3 (1984-1987) initially had a 5-speed transmission, a top-mounted radiator, and an off-center headlight, later updated in 1986-1987 with a split radiator, Uni-Trak suspension, and a centered headlight.
