Vehicle Information
Kawasaki 1000 LTD Motorcycle - Street (1977-1982)
The Kawasaki 1000 LTD, produced from 1977 to 1982, was an iconic model in Kawasaki's lineup, known for its powerful inline-four engine and cruiser-inspired styling. Part of the broader KZ1000 series, the 1000 LTD primarily featured two engine displacements: 1015cc and 998cc. A significant evolution occurred in 1981 with the introduction of the 998cc “J-model” engine. This change, driven by new racing regulations, brought a substantial engine redesign, including a lighter crankshaft, larger valves, and revised carburetors, leading to a notable increase in horsepower. The 1981 and 1982 LTD models adopted this new engine, tuned for mid-range and low-end power, while retaining their distinctive cruiser aesthetics. FAQ:
