The Yamaha V-Max 540, produced from 1983 to 1987, was a snowmobile known for its performance. During this period, the model maintained a consistent engine displacement and was primarily offered as a single core model with year-specific designations rather than distinct trims. It was equipped with a 535.8 cc (or 535 cc) liquid-cooled twin engine, producing approximately 86.4 horsepower at 8250 RPM. The 1983 model featured an innovative Telescopic Strut Suspension (TSS) and ProAction Link rear suspension.
