Vehicle Information
Polaris Classic 340 Snowmobile (2004-2006)
The Polaris Classic 340 is a reliable and accessible snowmobile, produced from 2004 to 2006. Positioned as an entry-level model, it featured a 339cc, fan-cooled, reed valve, 2-stroke engine with a CVT transmission. This engine consistently produced 36 horsepower across all production years. There was no major generational break or significant engine change for the Classic 340 between 2004 and 2006. The 339cc engine remained identical in its specifications. The primary evolution occurred in 2006 when Polaris rebranded its 2-Up "Classic" models to "Touring". Consequently, the Polaris 340 Touring was introduced alongside the Classic 340, and "LX" models were also noted as formerly "Classics", all sharing the same engine. Quality improvements, such as PERC and the TEAM clutch, were integrated starting in 2004 and carried over. FAQ:
