Vehicle Information
Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Motorcycle - Street (2009-2026)
The Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 series, produced from 2009 to 2026, represents a consistent line of powerful cruisers and touring motorcycles. All models across this range are powered by a 1,700cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 52-degree V-twin engine, a new design introduced in 2009 to replace the previous 1600cc unit. This engine features a single overhead cam (SOHC) and eight valves, maintaining its fundamental design throughout the years. While the core engine displacement remained constant, the Vulcan 1700 has seen evolutionary rather than revolutionary changes. Horsepower figures have shown slight variations, from approximately 73-74 hp in earlier models (2009-2014) to 82-83 hp for more recent 2026 models. The series has offered various trims, including the Classic (2009-2013), Nomad (2009-2014), and the long-running Voyager (2009-2026) and Vaquero (2011-2026) models, catering to diverse riding styles. Key updates included the introduction of K-ACT ABS as an option from 2009 and the addition of the Vaquero "bagger" trim in 2011. Minor technical and visual refinements, such as color changes, have been continuous. FAQ:
