Vehicle Information
Harley-Davidson Forty Eight Motorcycle - Street (2010-2022)
The Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight, produced from 2010 to 2022, was a distinctive model within the iconic Sportster family. Known for its "bulldog" stance, low profile, and retro-inspired design, it featured a 2.1-gallon peanut tank, forward controls, and a wide front tire. Throughout its production, it was consistently powered by an air-cooled Evolution 1202 cc V-twin engine, delivering approximately 66 horsepower and 70-73 lb-ft of torque.
While the Forty-Eight did not undergo a complete generation change, it received significant updates. The engine remained mechanically consistent, but the chassis saw notable revisions. In 2014, braking and electrical systems were updated, with optional ABS and the introduction of the Canbus system. More substantial improvements came in 2016, including an upgraded 49mm front fork, revised emulsion-style rear suspension, and a switch from wire-spoked to cast aluminum wheels. A "Forty-Eight Special" trim, featuring "tall boy" handlebars and more chrome, was briefly offered, notably in 2018.
Q: How do I ensure I select the correct parts for my Forty-Eight?
A: Please use the year and edition selector at the top of the page to filter for parts specifically compatible with your motorcycle.
