Suzuki Intruder 1500 Motorcycle - Street (1998-2004)
The Suzuki Intruder 1500, also known as the VL1500 Intruder LC, is an iconic cruiser motorcycle produced from 1998 to 2004. Positioned as a powerful and comfortable model, it is powered by a 1462cc V-twin engine (air/oil-cooled, SOHC, 3 valves per cylinder) delivering 67 hp (50 kW) at 4800 rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 2300 rpm. Fueling is provided by two Mikuni BDSRS6 carburetors, consistent across all production years.
While engine specifications remained consistent, the VL1500 Intruder LC received several significant mid-cycle updates. Models from 1998 to 2001 featured a single front disc brake and an approximate 13.25-liter fuel tank. In 2002, a dual rotor front braking system was introduced, the fuel tank capacity increased to 15.5 liters, and the riding position was optimized. The year 2003 brought new mirrors and SCEM cylinder plating. Finally, 2004 models benefited from improvements such as hydraulic valve lash adjusters, a hydraulic clutch, and a back-torque limiter.
