Vehicle Information
Yamaha FZ-07 Motorcycle - Street (2014-2017)
The Yamaha FZ-07, known as the MT-07 outside North America, is a versatile and agile motorcycle powered by a 689cc DOHC inline twin-cylinder engine. Produced from 2014 to 2017, it's celebrated for its strong low-to-mid-range torque, delivering a responsive and engaging riding experience. Its engine, featuring a 270-degree "Crossplane Concept" crankshaft, consistently produced around 74 to 75 hp and 68 Nm of torque. Throughout this period, the FZ-07 maintained largely consistent design and engine specifications. There were no significant mid-cycle generation changes or major engine overhauls. The most notable evolution was the introduction of ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) as an option starting with the 2017 model year. Owner discussions also suggest that earlier models (2014-2016) might have experienced transmission issues, which were reportedly addressed or improved in the 2017 models. Cosmetically, the bikes remained very similar, apart from color variations. FAQ:

| Engine Oil | First change: 1,000 km or 1 month. Subsequent changes: 10,000 km or 12 months. | Yamaha recommends Yamalube 10W-40 or 10W-50 engine oil. |
| Oil Filter | First change: With first oil change (1,000 km). Subsequent changes: 10,000 km (with every oil change). | Some sources recommend changing with every oil change, though US manuals might suggest every 12,800 km or 12 months. |
| Spark Plugs | Inspection: 10,000 km. Replacement: 20,000 km. | Check condition, adjust gap, and clean during inspection. |
| Air Filter | Cleaning/Inspection: At every service interval (10,000 km or 12 months). Replacement: 40,000 km or more often. | Replace more often if riding in dusty conditions. |
| Coolant | Replacement: Every 2 or 3 years. | Check level regularly. Use Yamalube coolant or an ethylene glycol antifreeze with corrosion inhibitors, mixed 1:1 with distilled water. |
| Drive Chain | Inspection/Lubrication/Adjustment: Every 800 km or after riding in wet conditions. | The FZ-07 uses a chain, not a belt. Clean, lubricate, and adjust tension. |
