Vehicle Information
Husqvarna 430 Motorcycle - Street (1976-1988)
The Husqvarna 430, produced from 1980 to 1988, is an iconic off-road motorcycle renowned for its ruggedness and performance. All models during this period featured a 430cc two-stroke, single-cylinder engine, delivering varying horsepower depending on the trim. It was available in several versions: the CR (close-ratio motocross), WR (wide-ratio enduro), XC (cross-country), and the Automatic (AE) version with an automatic transmission. A significant evolution for the 430 series was the transition from air-cooled to liquid-cooled engines. The 1983 models were the last to be air-cooled, with later versions, notably the 1986-1987 Automatic and 1987 WR/XC models, adopting liquid cooling. Updates also affected carburetion and ignition systems, such as the introduction of Mikuni carburetors and Kokusan ignition on 1988 Automatic models for easier starting. The sale of Husqvarna to Cagiva in 1987-1988 marked the end of the automatic models and Swedish-made motorcycles. FAQ:
