Vehicle Information
Arctic Cat 1000 ATV (2008-2017)
Arctic Cat 1000 vehicles (ATVs and UTVs) from 2008 to 2017 are renowned for their power and versatility. Powered by the 951cc (or 950cc) H2 V-Twin engine, these models offer robust performance for both work and recreation. This SOHC, 4-stroke, 4-valve, liquid-cooled, Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) engine was the core of the 1000cc lineup during this period, equipping ATVs like the Thundercat, TRV, MudPro, and 1000 XT EPS, as well as UTVs such as the Prowler XTZ and Wildcat. While the H2 V-Twin engine remained the core, significant enhancements were introduced. Notably, the Wildcat X (from mid-2013 onwards) received major engine optimizations (cam profiles, pistons, compression ratios) for increased horsepower, requiring 91 Octane fuel. Clutch and drivetrain refinements, the increasing integration of Electronic Power Steering (EPS), and suspension upgrades (e.g., Fox Podium shocks on the Wildcat X) also marked the evolution of the lineup. Q: Is this product compatible with my Arctic Cat 1000?

Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| Engine Oil and Oil Filter | Initial: 10 hours or 300 km. Subsequent: 50 to 100 hours, or annually, or 1,600 km, whichever comes first. | The oil filter should be replaced with every oil change. More frequent changes are advised in harsh conditions (dusty, wet, heavily loaded). |
| Air Filter | Cleaning: 25 to 50 hours, or after every weekend of riding, or daily in extremely dusty conditions. Replacement: Annually, or 10,000 km, or 50 hours. | Replace if worn, damaged, dirty after cleaning, or if seals are cracked. |
| Spark Plug | Replacement: Every 100 hours. | |
| Drive Belt (CVT) | Inspection: Around 100 hours. Replacement: 1,600 to 3,200 km. | Visually check for wear (fraying, chipped cogs) every 100 hours or 1,600 km. A new belt requires a break-in period of 30-50 km. |
| Coolant | Replacement: Annually or every two years. For silicated coolants: 2 years or 50,000 km. For extended-drain coolants: up to 5 years or 160,000 km. | Check at least once per season. Replace sooner if discolored or rusty. |
