Harley-Davidson SS Sprint 350 Motorcycle - Street (1969-1974)
The Harley-Davidson SS Sprint 350, produced from 1969 to 1974, was part of a family of compact motorcycles that were largely re-badged Aermacchi models for the U.S. market. Powered by an air-cooled OHV single-cylinder engine, it generally featured a 344cc displacement, though the 1974 SST 350 Sprint was specified with a 341cc engine. Horsepower ranged from 25 hp in 1969 to 27 hp for the 1974 SST 350 Sprint model. During its production run, the SS Sprint 350 underwent several evolutions and variations. In 1969, the engine displacement was boosted to 350cc (from the previous 250cc) and received a cosmetic makeover. Later models adopted a square slide Dell'Orto carburetor. In 1972, the Sprint SS model gained a fifth gear, and the gearshift was moved to the left side to comply with U.S. regulations. By 1973, the Sprint received an electric starter and was subsequently referred to as the SS350. Several trims were offered, including the SS (flat track racing), SX (off-road), 350TV (sporty), and 350GTS (touring). FAQ:
