Yamaha XS750 Motorcycle - Street (1977-1979)
The Yamaha XS750, produced from 1977 to 1979, was an inline three-cylinder motorcycle known for its shaft drive and distinctive engine. These models featured a 747cc air-cooled, DOHC inline triple engine. Significant revisions occurred during this period. The initial 1977 models (XS750D and 2D) offered 64 hp. The XS750-2D model addressed a second gear slipping issue and introduced a 3-into-2 exhaust system. In 1978, with the XS750E and SE models, horsepower was increased to 69 hp due to a higher compression ratio (from 8.5:1 to 9.5:1), revised camshafts, and the introduction of electronic ignition. Mikuni "Mark II" CV carburetors were also adopted. The 1979 models (XS750F and SF) continued these improvements by introducing tubeless cast wheels and removing the kickstarter. FAQ:
