Vehicle Information
Can-Am MX 175 Dirt Bike (1973-1977)
The Can-Am MX 175, produced from 1973 to 1977, was a series of motocross and enduro motorcycles renowned for their powerful Rotax engines. These 175cc models utilized a 173.6cc two-stroke, rotary-valve, single-cylinder Rotax engine, with a bore of 62mm and a stroke of 57.5mm. They were known for their performance and agility on track and trail.
During this period, Can-Am introduced several significant updates. The initial MX-1 and T'NT (Track and Trail) models from 1973-1974 were followed by the MX-2 in 1975. The most notable changes occurred in late 1976 and 1977 with the introduction of the MX-3 and the Qualifier series. The MX-3 brought major suspension improvements, replacing Betor forks with Marzocchi and adding an extended swingarm with Gabriel shocks. The enduro-focused Qualifier series also benefited from new suspension components and a standardized six-speed gearbox. How can I ensure this part fits my Can-Am MX 175?

Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| Injection Oil (reservoir) | Check before each ride | Two-stroke models use a separate injection oil system. Check and replenish the reservoir regularly. |
| Air Filter | Regular cleaning or replacement | Crucial for dirt bikes, especially in dusty environments. |
| Spark Plug | Regular inspection, cleaning, and replacement | Check condition and gap. |
| Drive Chain | Regular inspection, cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment | Models from this era use a chain, not a belt. |
| Engine Oil (gearbox) | As per owner's manual | For gearbox and clutch. |
