The Honda CX500, produced from 1978 to 1982, was distinguished by its liquid-cooled, longitudinal 80-degree V-twin engine and shaft drive. This model was one of Honda's first motorcycles to use tubeless tires and a liquid-cooled V-twin engine. Its 497cc engine typically produced 50 hp.
