Vehicle Information
Ski-Doo Touring 500 Snowmobile (1995-2001)
The Ski-Doo Touring 500 and Grand Touring 500 models, produced from 1995 to 2001, were designed for comfort and two-up riding. These snowmobiles were powered by reliable Rotax engines, consistently around 500cc, available in both fan-cooled (F) and liquid-cooled (LC) configurations. Engine displacements typically ranged from 496cc to 503cc, offering a balance of performance and efficiency for touring enthusiasts. During this production run, several key updates were introduced. In 1997, some Touring variants adopted the S-2000 chassis and the SC-10 rear suspension, enhancing ride quality. Further suspension improvements arrived in 2000 with the SC-10 II. Additionally, Rotax Electronic Reverse (RER) was introduced in 1998 and became standard on more Touring models by 1999, providing greater convenience. Various trims like Touring SLE, Grand Touring 500, and Touring 500F were offered, catering to different preferences. Q: How do I ensure I select the correct parts for my Ski-Doo Touring 500?
A: To guarantee a perfect fit, please use the year and model selector at the top of this page. This will filter parts specifically compatible with your snowmobile's exact configuration.
Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| Oil injection reservoir level | Before every ride | Ensure it is full; running out can severely damage the engine. |

| Spark Plugs | At the start of each season | Replace with fresh ones. |
| Air Filter | At the start of each season | Replace. |
| Coolant | Check before every ride; replacement every 2 years | Check level when cold. Use manufacturer-specified coolant or a 50/50 premix rated for powersports. |
