Vehicle Information
KTM 520 SX Dirt Bike (2000-2002)
The KTM 520 SX, produced from 2000 to 2002, was a pivotal model in KTM's early 2000s four-stroke motocross initiative. Designed for competitive MX and Supercross, it featured a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 510 cc four-stroke engine, part of the robust RFS (Racing Four Stroke) platform. This engine typically delivered 50 to 52 horsepower and was paired with a 4-speed transmission. The chassis, adapted from KTM's 250 two-stroke models, included an enlarged engine cradle and KTM's unique no-link rear suspension with a WP PDS damper. The 2000 model year marked the introduction of this entirely new four-stroke racing series. Throughout the 2000-2002 production run, the core engine and chassis architecture of the 520 SX remained consistent, with no significant mid-cycle generation changes reported. The primary trim offered was the 520 SX Racing. FAQ:
