Vehicle Information
Suzuki RGV250 Motorcycle - Street (1989-1992)
The Suzuki RGV250 (1989-1992) is a high-performance sportbike inspired by Grand Prix racing technology. Powered by a liquid-cooled, 249cc V-twin two-stroke engine, it was available in two main generations during this period: the VJ21 (1989-1990) and the VJ22 (1991-1992). These models embodied the spirit of road racing, offering a dynamic and agile riding experience. The 1989-1992 period saw a significant evolution with the transition from the VJ21 to the VJ22 model. The VJ21 (1989-1990) featured 32mm Mikuni carburetors (upgraded to 34mm in 1990), conventional telescopic forks, and an unbraced swingarm. The VJ22 (1991-1992) marked a major redesign, introducing a stiffer frame, upside-down forks, a distinctive 'banana' style swingarm allowing both exhausts to exit on one side, and a three-stage powervalve system (AETC-II). Sport Production (SP) models were also offered, including close-ratio gearboxes and adjustable suspension. Q: Does this page apply to all years of the Suzuki RGV250?
R: No, this page is specific to RGV250 models produced between 1989 and 1992. To find the exact parts for your motorcycle, please use the year and edition selector at the top of the page.
