Description
SaddlemenExplorer Special touring seats are engineered to provide mile after mile of uncompromising comfort. Our development team has brought together years of experience, top-of-the-line materials, and cutting-edge manufacturing processes resulting in a show bike appearance with unparalleled comfort.
This Kawasaki Vulcan 900 seat with backrest features deep sculptured saddles with the most refined contours ever developed, painstakingly perfected to provide comfortable, even support. The exclusive split-cushion saddle separates the lumbar support and seat cushions so they compress independently, reducing tail and hip bone pressure and the tendency to slide forward.
The hand-crafted cover includes our classic stitch-top, leather-grain SaddleHyde with sparkling chrome studs. Under the seat's cover lays a plush layer of headliner foam for a supple touch. Beneath that comes another key comfort ingredient: large pads of Saddlemen's® proprietary SaddleGel that damps vibration while providing outstanding supportive qualities. A foundation of our progressive density foam is the suspension system of the seat offering steadfast support that will not break down after long miles or many years of use.
You can select an Explorer Special with Saddlemen'soptional built-in backrest that has position adjustments, removes instantly without tools, and folds forward to ease passenger access. Saddlemen'sbackrest provides plenty of lower back support and does not interfere with the passenger's legs. The storage pouch is standard with the backrest, providing a great quick-access point for your passenger's belongings.

Vehicle Information
Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Motorcycle - Street (2006-2026)
The Kawasaki Vulcan 900 series, introduced in 2006 and produced through 2026, has maintained its core identity as a mid-sized cruiser. It was launched as a successor to the Vulcan 800, featuring a larger displacement engine and electronic fuel injection. All Vulcan 900 models from 2006 to 2026 consistently feature a 903cc (55.1 cu in) liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 4-valve per cylinder, 55-degree V-twin engine, paired with a 5-speed transmission and a belt final drive. The Vulcan 900 did not undergo a full "generation change" in the traditional sense, as its fundamental engine architecture and frame design have remained remarkably consistent. Key developments include its introduction in 2006 as an all-new model, replacing the Vulcan 800, with a new 903cc engine and electronic fuel injection. A slight reduction in peak horsepower (from 50 hp to 48 hp) was noted from 2013 onwards for some trims, like the Custom, likely due to emissions compliance or tuning adjustments. For the 2026 models, an increase in maximum horsepower to 51 hp is reported. The three primary trims – Classic, Classic LT (touring), and Custom – were all introduced in 2006 and continue to be offered, each with its distinctive styling. FAQ:
