Ski-Doo Blizzard 293 Snowmobile (1972)
The 1972 Ski-Doo Blizzard 293 was a high-performance snowmobile, marking a revolutionary year for the Blizzard line. It featured a powerful 294.5cc, 42 hp Triple Cylinder Rotax 293 free-air engine. The 1972 model year represented a complete overhaul for the Blizzard series. Bombardier introduced entirely new designs, including a new 15-inch chassis and a distinctive "Coffin style" two-piece hood. Engines were repositioned lower and in front of the tunnel, a significant departure from previous models. The rear suspension saw a 35% weight reduction with aluminum components, and all models came with steel cleated tracks and Kelsey-Hayes hydraulic disc brakes. This year also saw the introduction of new triple-cylinder engines and the first production rotary valve twin engines for certain trims.
