Vehicle Information
Yamaha GPX338 Snowmobile (1974-1975)
The Yamaha GPX338 was a popular snowmobile model produced between 1974 and 1975, known for its performance-oriented design. Both the 1974 GPX338F and 1975 GPX338G models were powered by a 338 cc, 44 HP two-stroke, five-port induction, parallel-twin engine. Key features included Autolube oil injection, CDI ignition, a V-belt automatic transmission, and disc brakes. The chassis, shared with the larger GPX433, featured a fabricated aluminum and steel frame with a molded steel-reinforced rubber drive track. Optional GYT Race Kits were also available to enhance performance. A notable change occurred between the model years regarding the engine's cooling system. The 1974 GPX338F utilized a natural air-cooled engine, while the 1975 GPX338G was equipped with fan cooling. Despite this modification, the engine displacement and horsepower remained consistent across both years. FAQ:
